The Yes People

Some people enter stage left,
and never exit.
Relationships shift,
distance tugs at the seams,
but their presences hold,
endure.
These are the ones who see us,
know us,call out our nonsense, call us
back to ourselves—to the
selves we are meant to
be(come).
They have held us.
When the world swallowed us
whole and spat us out—shattered, afraid—
they gathered the pieces,
stitched wholeness from
ruin.
They are the voices shouting yes
while the choir drones no.
They dream without borders,
build without fear,
weave hope into the fabric of
tomorrow.
No monuments bear their names,
no medals glint in their honor.
Yet, they are the architects
of the impossible made
real.
And when they depart
—as all must, in time—
the world may forget their names,
but the love that rewrote everything
remains.
